Read the guide →

Why profile-wire screens?

The V-shaped wire creates a narrow opening at the screening face and a widening passage behind it. Welded support rods hold the profile wires in place.

BEFORE YOU ENQUIRE

Screen specification questions.

Who operates Wedge Wire Works?

Wedge Wire Works is a dedicated wedge wire screen team within KUNYU Group, operated by Zhejiang Kunyu Wire Mesh Co., Ltd. The team works with specialist manufacturing partners and coordinates product specification, quotations and export requirements.

What is a wedge wire screen?

A wedge wire screen uses profile wires attached to support rods to form continuous slots. It is used for screening, filtration and separation. Screen geometry, slot opening and support structure are selected for the intended duty.

What should I send for a quotation?

Share the screen type, dimensions, material, slot opening, quantity and destination, if known. A drawing or clear photos of an existing screen help identify mounting details. State any critical operating conditions or inspection requirements.

Can you review a replacement screen requirement?

Yes. Send the available drawing, measured dimensions and photos, together with the application and any problems with the existing screen. Fit, loading and operating requirements must be reviewed before a replacement specification is agreed.

How are material, tolerances and lead time confirmed?

Material grade, slot and dimensional tolerances, documentation, quantity and delivery schedule are confirmed for the specific quotation and order. A published product example does not define the limits for every screen configuration.

Which materials are available for wedge wire screens?

Material options include 304, 304L, 316 and 316L stainless steel, duplex 2205, and selected specialty alloys such as 904L, Alloy 20, Hastelloy and Monel. The exact grade and screen configuration are confirmed against the process medium, temperature and order requirements.

Can you supply fine-slot wedge wire cylinders?

Selected cylinder designs have fine-slot options down to 0.02 mm, equivalent to 20 μm. Feasibility depends on the wire profile, cylinder dimensions and operating duty. This is a nominal physical opening, not a guaranteed particle-removal rating; the required slot tolerance must be agreed separately.

How is wedge wire screen open area calculated?

For uniform parallel slots, theoretical surface open area (%) = slot opening ÷ (slot opening + wire surface width) × 100. Using illustrative inputs of a 0.50 mm slot and 1.50 mm wire width gives 25.0%. This excludes frames, support obstructions and fouling, and is not a flow-capacity guarantee.
